Subsidized Child Care Program
The Office of Adult, Child and Family Stability (ACFS) administers the Child Care program. This program pays for child care for eligible families who are working, attending school or training or participating in the Ohio Works First Work Activity program. Payments are made directly to certified child care centers and providers.
Parents or caretakers who want to apply for subsidized child care may:
- Call (513) 732-7483, leave your name and address on voicemail and have an application and appointment mailed to your home.
- Send an email requesting an application and appointment to djfs@co.clermont.oh.us .
- Come to the agency to receive an application. If you complete the application and leave it with the Child Care Unit, an appointment will be sent to you in the mail.
Eligibility is based on the household’s situation, total income and family size; a face to face interview is required. Generally, each family has a co-payment to contribute to their own child care expenses in addition to the subsidy paid by the program.
Early Learning Initiative Program (ELI)
ACFS determines eligibility for the ELI program. This is an income based, kindergarten readiness program for children ages 3 to 5. For additional information you can search the Ohio Dept. of Education web site at http://www.ode.state.oh.us/ .
